“You can have everything beautiful in this world.
Or you can have your addiction.
But you can’t have both.”
The true story of how God turned rock bottom into a Kingdom assignment.

Some stories are about addiction.
This story is about what God can do with a life that seems beyond saving.
For years, Stacy Dodd lived in a cycle of addiction, arrests, broken relationships, homelessness, and prison. Every attempt to start over seemed to end in the same place—another setback, another failure, another reason to believe his life would never change.
But God had not abandoned him.
The Fire Inside is the true story of a man who lost nearly everything and discovered that rock bottom was not the end of his story. Through unimaginable consequences, painful lessons, and unexpected encounters with God’s grace, Stacy found freedom, purpose, and a calling greater than he ever imagined.
This is a story of redemption.
A story of hope.
A story for anyone who has ever wondered if their mistakes are too great, their failures too many, or their past too broken for God to use.
Because the same God who rescued Stacy is still transforming lives today.
Whether you’re struggling with addiction, destructive habits, shame, or a past you can’t seem to escape, Stacy’s story is proof that your current circumstances do not have to define your future.
Maybe your story looks different than Stacy’s. Maybe your failures aren’t addiction, but regret, broken relationships, bad decisions, or years spent running from God.
This book is a reminder that no one is too far gone for grace.
If you’ve spent sleepless nights praying, worrying, rescuing, enabling, hoping, and wondering what to do next, this book offers a rare look inside the mind of addiction—and the difficult road toward recovery.
Pastors, Celebrate Recovery leaders, counselors, chaplains, and mentors will find a powerful testimony of transformation that speaks honestly about addiction, consequences, accountability, and redemption.
You Need Proof That Redemption Is Real

Stacy Dodd knows what it feels like to lose everything.
He has slept in barns, battled addiction, walked out of jail with nowhere to go, and stood in a prison yard wondering if his life would ever change. For years, addiction, arrests, homelessness, and broken relationships defined his story.
But God wasn’t finished writing it.
Today, Stacy is a nationally certified addiction interventionist, recovery advocate, mentor, ministry leader, author, speaker, and founder of multiple organizations dedicated to helping others find freedom and purpose. He serves families across the Southeast through professional intervention services and works daily with individuals and families affected by substance use disorders.
Stacy is the CEO and Co-Founder of the Hope Center of North Mississippi, an award-winning nonprofit serving at-risk youth, and serves as State Representative for Celebrate Recovery Inside across Memphis Metro and North Mississippi, helping bring recovery programs into the prison system that once held him.
His life is a testimony that no one is beyond redemption, no one is beyond hope, and no one is disqualified from God’s purpose.
Stacy lives in DeSoto County, Mississippi, with his wife Stephanie. Together they enjoy their growing family, which includes two children and four grandchildren.
