Turn your

personal story

into a powerful book

You don't need a book coach.

You need a book doula!

A what? I am so glad you asked!

Just like a doula supports a new mom through the miracle of birth, I’m here to help you bring your book into the world.

Whether you’re dreaming of sitting in an agent's office signing a traditional publishing deal or feeling the pull toward the creative control of self-publishing but don’t know where to start, I’ve got you covered. I’m here to answer the questions you didn’t even know you had, share my expert advice and hard-won knowledge, and help you figure out how to reach that moment you are flipping to the title page of your book as someone tells you to "sign it to Aunt Judy."

Let’s turn you into a published author, and have a whole lot of fun along the way!

Does this sound familiar?

You’ve felt the spark—the undeniable call to write your book. But the moment you sit down to make it happen, reality hits:

  • You don’t even know where to start. Should you outline? Dive straight into writing? Google “how to publish a book” for the 50th time and hope the answer magically appears?

  • The thought of rejection haunts you. What if no one likes your story? What if agents and publishers keep saying no? What if the world moves on, indifferent to the book you poured your heart into?

  • Every decision feels overwhelming. Should you self-publish or go the traditional route? What’s the difference between an editor and a proofreader? Do you really need a platform? And don’t even get started on formatting.

  • You’re running out of steam. The passion is there, but the process feels endless. You’re staring at a half-finished draft, wondering if you have what it takes to cross the finish line.

  • Doubt keeps creeping in. Who are you to write a book? Aren’t there already too many books out there? What makes your story different?

And then there are the voices—well-meaning friends, online forums, and even that little voice in your head—telling you how hard this will be.

“Publishing is a brutal industry.”
“Only famous people can sell books.”
“Are you sure your story is worth telling?”

The result? You’re stuck in the endless loop of dreaming, doubting, and hesitating—while your book remains unwritten and your message unheard.

But what if there was another way?

One that involves you staying in more control,

not only of the process, but of the finished work?

But how do you stay in control when you have never published a book before

and are having to learn how to assemble this plane after you have taken off?

You hire an expert to be your go-to source for questions, guidance, and support so that the number of times you daydream about throwing your laptop out of the window are kept to a minimum. (I can't promise to eliminate those times; though, you are a writer after all.)

Let's go from this wonderful crazy idea you have to a full-fledged, ready to transform your life book confidently, strategically, courageously, and quickly.

So, why do I do this?

I’ve been a published author for close to 20 years, with both traditionally published and self-published titles to my name. But let me tell you a story about how I became really passionate about this work.

My mom—a wonderful writer (and yes, I’m biased, but I’m also right)—decided to publish her book. She hired a hybrid publisher, thinking they’d help bring her God-inspired vision to life. Spoiler alert: it did not go well.

They couldn’t see her vision. Over and over, they told her, “You shouldn’t do it that way—that’s not what sells. Readers don’t like that.” Translation: “We’re going to cram your beautifully unique, round book into our cookie-cutter, square format because it’s easier for us.

Her book wasn’t some plug-and-play project that fit neatly into their mass-production templates with minimal editing and zero creative effort. Her book was special. It was inspired. And they just didn’t get it.

Cue the late-night phone calls. She’d call me in tears after yet another confusing email, another rejection of her request to make a change, or just another round of unnecessary frustration.

I’d had enough.

So, I did what any writer-daughter worth her salt would do: I teamed up with her. We co-authored a book and published it ourselves.

And guess what? Now, our books sell out at the speaking engagements we do. Clearly, there are readers who wanted her uniquely round book—despite what the “experts” said.

Moral of the story? Sometimes you’ve got to take control to make sure your voice and your vision stay intact.

And I’m here to help you do just that.

Easy or Hard?

As my dad always said, “You can do it the easy way, or you can do it the hard way. The choice is yours.”

The easy way? Hiring an expert to guide you seamlessly through the process, saving you time, stress, and those “throw-the-laptop-out-the-window” moments.

The hard way? Figuring it out on your own—stumbling, second-guessing, and spending a whole lot more time and heartache than necessary.

The choice is yours.

If you’re ready to take the easy way, let’s talk.

Schedule a call—I’d love to hear where you’re at in the process and help you take the next step with confidence.

Truth bomb -

EVERYONE pays money

to publish their book.

The question is -

who invests that money FIRST?

Don't want to invest to have your book professionally edited, formatted, designed, and printed? No problem! A traditional publisher will happily pay for all of that for you - at first. But you will need to pay them for that privilege with part of the profits of the book. Usually, a big part. (Publishing ain't cheap.) And you will need to make sure your book get in front of them by giving an agent a part of those profits as well. And that is if you can even get an agent to take a chance on you.

Have the dough to pay someone to do it all for you? Awesome! There are many places that will happily take that money. But make sure they produce quality work before agreeing to anything or you will be disappointed.

OR...

You can take control of the process yourself, learning where to invest and in what, so that your book stands out among the rest, even the traditionally published works.

SO - Are you willing to be the FIRST to invest in your book?

Carolyn - this all sounds great, but I want a traditional publisher

because I need someone else to do the marketing for me. I hate selling.

I knew we would come to this point. Here is where I am going to hurt your feelings. You will have to get good at selling if you want to be successful as an author. Period. Full stop. Books do not sell themselves, people do judge books by their covers, and marvelously written works of art go unnoticed and unsold daily.

Yes, a traditional publisher will guide you through marketing your book. They will create assets for you to use to market your book, and they will help make it easier to market your book - because they want to make money! But they will not do all of the work for you. The person who sells the book best is the author. That's you. So let's adjust our crown, and get out there and learn how to do this thing!

If you plan to write, you must plan to sell. Or live happy in the knowledge that the only three copies sold were all to your mother. (And she is the one who wrote the anonymous review Amazon hasn't noticed and taken down yet.)

No worries though - I walk you through this part as well! Told you I had your back.

Your Guide to Less Stress and More Progress

When you hire an expert to be your go-to source for guidance, you get clarity where there was once confusion. You get answers instead of frustration. And you keep the urge to toss your laptop out the window (mostly) in check.

Let me be clear: I can’t promise you’ll never have moments of writerly exasperation—you are a writer, after all. But I can promise you’ll feel supported, equipped, and confident in your next steps.

Together, we’ll take your brilliant idea and turn it into a fully realized book—one that doesn’t just exist but transforms your life and the lives of your readers.
